Christmas is one of my favorite occasions. It is our tradition to spend time with the whole clan for Christmas dinner. We update each other with our lives, play games, exchange gifts, play with the younger ones, take a gazillion photos, watch movies, laugh together, and of course eat together.
Christmas has always been festive for this family. From my brother’s special “blockbuster” and most requested beef kaldereta, to my aunties’ kare-kare, pasta, buko pandan and most of all… LECHON… ahhh! You won’t want the night to end! Sometimes, my cousins and I usually end up with an unplanned sleepover! :))
I know all of you can relate and most of you (yes most) celebrate Christmas the way we do. What we don’t realize is that, while we enjoy the lavishness and the abundance of our Christmas with our families… there are families who can’t even afford to buy anything to make their Christmas extra special.
There are families who don’t celebrate Christmas simply because they can’t afford it.
For Joseph Feeding Mission (JFM), the Christmas tradition is to bring happiness to the poor and marginalized, to spread the love of Christ, and to make the Christmas season extra special for them.
We seek to sponsor as many families as we can, because they deserve the joy of celebrating Christmas as much as we do.
So this season, JFM has a new project called “Love This Christmas”, where you can sponsor a family for only 300 pesos!
These JFM meal bags consist of:
- Spaghetti and Sauce
- Ham
- Ham Tasty Bread
- Fruits
- Castanas
- Toys
- Plus: Cooked meal
Let us remember that we celebrate Christmas because of Jesus’ birth. Yes, it’s His birthday! And what’s the best way to make Him feel special during His birthday? Give Him gifts!
