Last August 29, with our team, contributors, talented speakers, and sponsors, we celebrated Share Movement’s 2nd year anniversary. (Yay!) (Read more about our celebration here) I can’t believe it! It’s been two years of learning, frustrations, getting out of our comfort zone, success and soooo much more!
So today, let me take this time to SHARE why I love being a part of Share Movement:
1. Meeting talented and passionate people.
I get to meet creative, talented, passionate and generous personalities that inspire me to give my best to whatever it is that I’m passionate about.
Share Movement gives me a lot of connections! Talented speakers, sponsors, contributors and so much more!
2. Freebies, generous sponsors, and discovering awesome local products.
Part of my job in Share Movement is to search for local products and shops that are willing to love and support our movement by sponsoring.
Free stuff are always a-ok! I get to try lots of different food and give out awesome products to our attendees, contributors, and volunteers!
I’m able to meet business owners like Mia Sison of Juice Hut Manila who is generous enough to sponsor a lot of my workshops! And by the way, I’ll be collaborating with her for our Craft and Share workshop this Sept 26!
Sharing is really benefitting everyone! (Support local and check out some of the brands I discovered here).
3. Free workshop lessons!
Workshops are becoming popular and people pay to be part of one. They do it to learn something and fuel their hobbies and passion.
Our volunteers and contributors get to learn FOR FREE!
I think this is the reason why I’m into watercolor right now! Haha!
4. Opportunities to bless and be blessed!
You know what they say, when you bless other people you’ll be blessed too! Give and it will come back to you.
5. Helping people in need.
I’ve been shooting for Joseph Feeding Mission (JFM) for almost 5 years now and every single week of my life, I’ve been exposed by the needs of many different people. Each and every feeding outreach is a bittersweet feeling because there will always be a need. There will always be people who need somebody else’s help.
With Share Movement, I get the chance and privilege to generate funds for the benefit of people in need. It’s such a beautiful and overwhelming feeling knowing that I get to help people by doing what I love to do and influence capable individuals to do the same.
To name some, Share Movement (everyone who took part of it) helped Yolanda typhoon survivors, Bohol Earthquake Survivors, donated a worthwhile amount for JFM’s kitchen upgrade, sponsored school bags for Tondo and Payatas kids, and so much more!
6. Doing what you love.
Share Movement is a fun way of giving. In my case, I get to shoot more, discover new things, try out artsy endeavors, learn, meet new friends, and so much more! Imagine doing what you love for a cause? How awesome is that?
7. Teaches me how to be organized.
From organizing events, meetings, files, database, marketing, tasks… you name it! It made me a little bit OC (obsessive compulsive) in a good way! Haha!
8. Going out of my comfort zone.
Growth. I’m a photographer and I’m used to staying behind the scenes. But because of this movement, I am constantly taught to overcome my fear of being in front of the camera just for the sake of promoting and sharing this movement!
It also pushed me to associate myself with known personalities (“InstaFamous”, “Top Bloggers” etc) of different fields. It pushes me to influence and challenge them to use their talents and passion for a cause. So far so good. *thumbs up
9. Forming a community of givers.
I’m surprised to know that many people really have a soft spot when it comes to helping. Slowly, we are starting to create a community of givers – not only financially but even givers of time, effort, and talent!
As I always say, no matter what is it, no matter how small or big, JUST GIVE.
We have couples who donate 20% of their profit for JFM, contributors who offer their time to help me organize workshops, letterers who take time to layout our posters, attendees who bring random giveaways like sack of rice, clothes, bags to donate…you name it!
10. Privilege of making God smile.
I know that even if I don’t earn financially for personal gain, I have the assurance that God is happy with what I’m doing. He will be the one to provide for all my needs. Beyond all of Share Movement’s benefits. This is the greatest prize to me.
“And do not forget to do good and to share with others,
for with such sacrifices God is pleased.”
That’s it (for now)! What’s keeping you from becoming a part of Share Movement?
